Day 50

Since checkout time was not too early we decided to have another soak in the mineral pools. It felt really good, of course before that we had gone for a brisk walk while enjoying the mountain views on either side of us. Did a load of laundry and packed up.

Our trip for today was the Palm Springs Arieal Tramway. One of the steepest trams in the world, and one of the few where the tram car slowly rotates so that you can have 360 degree views. It was amazing. You think that when you reach the top it will be all rocks, but not so. There were these beautiful old, tall, majestic Jeffery Pine trees, as well as other trees. It is a national park and they have 54 miles of trails and if you so choose you could tent up there, although that would most likely only be during the summer months. It was not too cold, around 10 degrees and sunny. We took a short trail taking in God's creation, took in the views of Palm Springs and the surrounding towns, the wind farms, the Salton Sea and enjoyed it immensely.

Saw the movie "The Descendants", some of the language was not the best but the story was raw. Tim found some scenes a bit rough since the dying mom's name was Elizabeth. Grabbed a late supper at a Mexican restaurant and Tim's buritto was huge, so huge that he could only eat half of it. Picture will come after we get home. Found a Wal-Mart parking lot, bought some supplies and went to sleep.
