Another Adventure Part 3

January 27

Worked at 'home' in the morning and after lunch we went to check out the tide pools at the beach. It is amazing to see all the creatures that God has created. We drove further to another beach to check out more sea creatures and here it was very windy. We were whipped by the sand. This wind made it perfect for the wind surfers, which we did enjoy watching. We stopped at a few grocery stores to pick up supplies for making farmer sausage tomorrow.  Another great day enjoying nature.

This morning we headed out to Ministerios Ancla de Amor, Brian & Clarissa's, to butcher a pig. This pig was a fair size and when we began cutting off the skin you could see how fat the pig was. We cut off lots and lots of fat which we then ground up and cooked for several hours to make lard. It should last them a long time. When we were part way through cutting up the first pig the guys decided to also slaughter the second pig. We did have lunch before we began cutting up the second one. This pig was not so fat. After many hours of cutting we then ground up the pork, weighed and added seasoning and added to the sausage machine and quickly made a whole lot of farmer sausage. Once it was made we placed it on to a medal rod and hung the whole rod inside the smoker. A few hours later we had smoked farmer sausage. We also smoked the bones which they can use for soup or add to their beans. What a long and tiring day but all worth it knowing that now the children, and the adults who help them, will have lots of pork to eat. May God bless Brian & Clarissa and those that help them as they seek to provide a loving home for these orphaned or abused children.

Went to the beach this morning so that Tim and Matt could film a pop review (Coke this time). Al & Hilda and myself walked the beach while we were waiting and we blessed to see more dolphins. What a beautiful day! After lunch we drove up to the towers in Guaymas to check out the views, and the slow windy, bumpy, narrow road was all worth it. Visited in the evening before retiring to bed.
