Last week for me at MDS. The weekend was good, I gave Melford a haircut and helped and gave instruction on haircuts for Ken and Bert, we toured an old home in Jasper and went to church on Sunday and in the evening went to Westwood Baptist Church for a southern gospel concert - the Masters Men. Tim and I enjoyed it but the three old couples that we went with (it was their suggestion to go) found it difficult to understand the words and also thought it was too loud. Ah the differences in generations!
Our new group arrived and this time the men outnumber the women 2-1. Only two Amish men, a husband and wife with their daughter from Manitoba, and the rest are all from the USA.
Our jobs:
Tim and his crew tore out the rotten floor joists, and replaced them with new ones and put plywood on the floor. He has two bathrooms to replace with drywall and floors and will have to do the flooring in both bathrooms, kitchen, living room, bedroom and hallway.
My crew and I will attempt to finish mudding and get some paint on the ceiling and walls, finish out the bathroom/laundry room and texture and paint the spare bedroom. We did take out a door and have made it into a wall and then we need to tear down what used to be a closet, since it was basically a lean to on the house. Hopefully we can install a new door to the house. Not sure how much more we can get done this week, as many more rooms in the house need to be worked on. We will do what we can.
Tim has been feeling sick the last two days but has been still going to work. We are praying that he will feel better soon and also that I will not get sick. We are so thankful to all of you for praying for us. The people that we are working for are so very grateful for everything that we are doing and we know that it is only because of God that we are here. We pray that their lives will be touched and know that, we do what we do because of our love for God.
Thank you God for giving me strength.
