Another Adventure Part 2

Jan 21-26

January 21

This morning we went to Devon & Marisol's to visit the children's program. It was nice to see the children hearing the stories of Jesus. We went over to Devon' home to have a tour and see the changes from last year and pick up the food for the children and then back to the church to help serve lunch.

After our lunch, back at home, we began working on the RV pole shed, painting and welding.
Supper was potluck at the American church. It was nice to see the children from Maggie's and from Brian & Clarissa's join everyone for supper. Some of us chose to walk back and then ended up watching a movie "The Greatest Gift."

This morning we got up very early and drove to Miramar to go fishing. Tim and Hilda each caught fish but they were quite small. Some others including myself and Matt felt a bit sea sick. Out trip starred out cold but by the end it was nice and warm. We even got to see some dolphins close up. After a fish taco lunch, at a local restaurant, and a nap for some, we worked again on the RV pole shed. We quit when it got dark and relaxed for the evening.

January 23

This morning. We helped serve at the Train Station in Guaymas. After lunch the girls stayed home and did laundry and the guys went over to Brian's to make a frame for a smoke house. Matt and Edgar also picked more oranges. We are enjoying our time here.

January 24, Sunday

We had a good time this morning at the San Carlos Community Church, great music and a great sermon by Glen Driedger. We walked back to the house and once ready we climbed onto quads and headed out for lunch. After a scrumptious lunch on the beach with our toes in the sand we got back onto the quads for more riding, this time on trails with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. It was awesome! Thanks Art & Brenda.

Welding and painting was the object of the day. We are hoping to get as much done as we can. I even went up on the high ladders to paint, not my favourite but it needed to be done. Pulled out the Rook cards and taught others how to play. I think they like it.

January 26

Today the guys put up all the tin for the roof that we had. I did more painting. It was great to see the progress being made. This afternoon we drove past Empalma to a small village where we did some face painting, played some games and shared the gospel story. We also handed out gospel bracelets with them coloured beads. For supper we stopped in Empalma for Philidelphia hotdogs (bacon wrapped and stuffed with cream cheese). They were very yummy. Back at home we got the Rook cards out again and had another good game.
